2017 marked our 100th year in business. Did you know that 88% of current family business owners believe the same family or families will control their business in five years? Succession statistics undermine this belief. Roughly 30% of family-owned businesses survive into the second generation. 12% are viable into the third generation, while only about 3% of all family businesses carry the torch into the fourth generation and beyond.
